ANZAC Day is a special day for the Cam’s Cause team and its growing legion of supporters. It is one of the many days of the calendar where we pause to pay our respects to those, past and present, who selflessly put their own lives in danger, in defence of our country and the freedoms we enjoy in the most wonderful country on the planet.
Cam’s Cause exists to sustain the legacy of Corporal Cameron Baird and ANZAC Day sees a growing number of tributes that follow the theme of one of Camerons greatest passions, Australian Rules Football.
This year, AFL Townsville’s Curra Swans showed their support for Cam’s Cause by incorporating our logo on their special ANZAC round guernseys in their annual ANZAC Day fixture against the Hermit Park Tigers.
Below is an experpt from the club’s Facebook page:
The annual ANZAC Day round between Curra Swans and Hermit Park Tigers was again played in wet and muddy conditions. Players enjoyed the opportunity to take part in such an important game, played in the true ANZAC spirit, which saw them come away with a clean sweep of three wins in the Senior Round 5 games played at Neil French Oval.
